October 25th, 26th, 29th – 31st
SALINAS, CA – Be prepared to be scared…if you dare! For the fourth year in a row, Sun Street Centers will be hosting the Castle of the Dead Haunted House & Pumpkin Patch at the Storm House at 185 Maryal Drive (behind the Salinas DMV office) during Halloween week. The event is a volunteer collaboration between diverse community organizations, local businesses and volunteers of all ages.
Build-out of a 6,000 square foot haunted house has already begun, and will include a Steam Punk Castle, a Haunted Sanitarium and a Merciless Maze that will be sure to impress and bring some hair raising chills to those that dare to enter. The haunted house will be complemented by an outdoor, family friendly pumpkin patch with entertainment, games and superheroes for the younger children. Pumpkins will also be sold.
The objective of the event is to provide local youth and families with a safe, fun and healthy entertainment alternative during Halloween week. “We want to bring families together, particularly our youth, in a fun and inclusive way. Each year our event grows in theatrics and popularity, and this year we expect to bring over 2,000 people together.“, said Anna Foglia, Chief Executive Officer of Sun Street Centers.
Tickets for entry into the event are $12.00 each (or $6.00 for children eight years and under). The event will culminate on Halloween day (9:00 p.m.) with a raffle of a new Harley Davidson motorcycle, generously donated by Fresh Express. Motorcycle raffle tickets are $10.00 each (or three for $25.00).
