Sun Street Centers encourages gifts of the following types:
Cash or cash equivalents valued at their U.S. monetary worth.
Checks payable to Sun Street Centers.
Gift Cards and Gift Certificates
Donors are encouraged to write a check for the organization to purchase gift cards.
In-Kind Donations
Sun Street Centers welcomes gifts of personal property that fit within its mission.
Donation of Services
While services are crucial and very much appreciated, they are not tax-deductible beyond out-of-pocket expenses associated with the services provided.
Life Insurance
An irrevocable gift of a fully-paid policy may be made naming Sun Steet Centers as the owner and beneficiary. Donors may also make tax-deductible gifts of insurance policy dividends.
Readily Marketable Securities
Sun Street Centers accepts gifts of publicly traded securities (stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc.)
Bequests
A bequest is a gift of any amount or form made through a will. We ask donors to include the statement “To Sun Street Centers” in their will or trust agreement.
Deferred Gifts
The proceeds of a deferred gift do not immediately come to Sun Street Centers. Examples would be wills, annuities, trusts, or pooled income funds.
Real Property or an Interest Therein
Major gifts such as land, houses, jewelry, artwork and antiques are recorded by Sun Street Centers at the fair market value placed upon them by an independent, expert appraiser. The value of small gifts with an apparent worth of less that $5,000 is determined by the donors.
