Sun Street Centers honors local business leader
Salinas, CA, April 2, 2015: Salinas City councilman Steve McShane (3rd District) was awarded a “community partner” plaque Wednesday night at Sun Street Centers’ monthly recovery awards ceremony. McShane was honored for his “ongoing support of men in long-term recovery, youth prevention efforts and the mission of Sun Street Centers to improve our community”.
“Steve has been a longtime supporter both personally and professionally of the Prevention and Men’s Residential departments at Sun Street Centers,” said Activities Coordinator David Scotton in presenting the award. “We had our most successful fundraising car wash in many years on St. Patrick’s Day at McShane’s Nursery. Steve was the catalyst to having our men volunteer at the annual district cleanups scheduled throughout the city of Salinas.”
“I am honored to be recognized by Sun Street Centers” said McShane in accepting the award. “Sun Street Centers has done great work in the community for many years and I am humbled to be honored here tonight.”
