Salinas, CA – January 2016

Please join us in extending best wishes to Roberto Garcia.  After 15 years of service Roberto is retiring from his position as Program Manager of the Men’s Residential Treatment Program at Sun Street Centers.   Roberto first came to Sun Street Centers as a client in the Men’s Residential Program in 2000. He successfully graduated the program and soon after took the job as a cook in the Men’s Residential kitchen.

During his employment at Sun Street Centers, Roberto helped thousands of men achieve long-term recovery from drug and alcohol addiction through his dedication and understanding.  He will be greatly missed by residents, alumni and colleagues alike.  His experience and years of recovery have been an inspiration to us all.

“Roberto Garcia has not only been an inspiration and a guiding light to me personally, but literally thousands of other men in our community. He personifies what Social Model is. ‘One alcoholic helping another.’ Sun Street Centers has forever been changed by his presence here. We wish him and his family the very best. He will truly be missed,” commented John Bokanovich, Director of Recovery Services.

A retirement party will be held on January 28, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm at the Fellowship Hall at 8 Sun Street in Salinas. All friends, alumni, colleagues and well-wishers are welcome to attend.
