Our beloved coworker, friend, and inspiring community advocate,
Darlene ‘Dee’ Acosta
passed away on February 14, 2023
Dee was instrumental in the Prevention Department as Manager of South Monterey Co. She was one of our strongest supporters and leader for our PARTS Coalition and STEPS in South County for many years. She led the charge with Council Members and Supervisors to ban social hosting of minors and to educate parents for the good of all children and teens. She was one of the driving forces advocating that we get prop 47 funds to build the King City recovery programs. Dee was truly committed to the mission of Sun Street Centers and really lived the values created by the team. Dee will be greatly missed.
