SUD Clinical Coordinator – Residential – San Luis Obispo

DESCRIPTION

Provide outpatient counseling and education services to adults and youth seeking alcohol and drug treatment services. This position includes case management, individual and group counseling, oversight of daily treatment operations and quality assurance.  Ability to communicate in a considerate and culturally sensitive manner. Community outreach for the advancement of agency services, Familiar with Medi-Cal and Electronic Health record use.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus three years of related experience working with people with alcohol and/or drug addiction.  Can be licensed or registered as an associate with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and/or social work or clinical experience in AOD/SUD field; Or certification and/or registration with the State of California in Substance Use Disorder counseling.

RANGE: $24.55 – $32.09

Principle Responsibilities:

The following responsibilities represent the essential functions of the position.  An employee in this classification is responsible for carrying out the following functions:

1. Acts as a resource for alcohol and drug addiction information, treatment, education, and/or prevention, program development, community activities, acts as a liaison between program services and the community/courts.
2. Provides oversight of daily treatment operations and services including case management, communications, and advocacy, assures quality services are provided in timely manner.
3. Facilitates special programs which could include but are not limited to, family empowerment, homeless community liaison, veteran services, private insurance contracts, couples counseling, jail/prison re-entry program, continuing education training, and case file QA.
4. Provides individual and group counseling, as needed.
5. Oversees provision of client intake, billing, data collection, and case review.
6. Assures timely communications with persons served, funding sources, staff, management and community.
7. Conducts tours and makes presentations.
8. Assures compliance with all safety regulations.
9. Assures compliance with all client confidentiality requirements.
10. Assures compliance with agency policies and procedures.
11. May perform special projects or other duties as assigned to assure the efficiency of the program.

Required knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and databases
2. Ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service.
3. Ability to facilitate systems and checks to assure delivery of quality service and product to internal and external customers.
4. Knowledge of the principles of management, supervision, planning, fiscal management, fair employment practices, regulations, safety, health and client rights
5. Ability to observe, evaluate, document and communicate verbally and in writing
6. Knowledge of alcohol and drug addiction treatment and prevention program development
7. Ability to communicate and lead in a culturally competent and sensitive manner.

Environmental Conditions:

Constant movement around service area, and travel into the community. Time spent sitting, using a computer station, periods of intense concentration, using the telephone, paperwork. Time spent in meetings, travel to various work site locations throughout the County. Exposure to outdoor weather and environmental conditions.

NOTE:  Employees will be required to be double vaccinated with booster for COVID-19, fingerprinted, and will be subject to clearance by the department of Justice.
