Provides resource support to staff and program participants to facilitate agency and program goals. The program aid plans meals, purchases food, assists program participants in preparing healthy eating choices, supervises cleanup of kitchen & dining area and provides other program activity support including driving participants to appointments Maintain good relationship with Department of Health and local food banks. Health and safety are of primary importance Program Aid acts as a peer mentor and provides social model recovery activities.
A combination of experience education and /or training which would substantially demonstrate the ability to perform the duties listed above. At least six months to one year of continuous sobriety. And if recovery, an active member of a mutual self-help group such as Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous. One year of related experience working with people with alcohol and/or drug addictions commercial kitchen preferred. CPR and First Aid, Health Code Training/Safe Serve (to be completed upon hiring).

Constant movement around service area, and travel into the community. Time spent sitting, using a computer station, periods of intense concentration, using the telephone, paperwork. Time spent in meetings, travel to various work site locations throughout the County. Exposure to outdoor weather and environmental conditions.
NOTE: Employees will be required to be double vaccinated with booster for COVID-19, fingerprinted, and will be subject to clearance by the department of Justice.
