Select, and prepare healthy and nutritious food required for each meal. Cook, bake, fry, and otherwise prepare items required according to standards. Supervise set-up of dining room, assure cleanliness of kitchen and dining room, and supervise resident helpers in a social model residential substance abuse setting. Follow State and County Health Code safety rules and regulations. Head Cook takes the lead in supervising meals, staff, and food preparation. Trains new staff and volunteers.
A combination of experience education and / or training which would substantially demonstrate the ability to perform the duties listed above. At least six months to one year of continuous sobriety. And if recovery, an active member of a mutual self-help group such as Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous. Completion of SafeServe training program.
