50th Anniversary Partner Appreciation Lunch

On Friday, January 12th, we kicked off our 50th Anniversary Celebration with a very special luncheon to thank our partners for the half century of support that has led us to an amazing place. Held at the Rodeo Grounds in Salinas, a beautiful and elegant luncheon was provided by Turf Club Catering.

Sun Street Centers’ Articles of Incorporation, filed in 1968, named major objectives that today we are proud to have not only upheld, but expanded! These include:

  • To increase public understanding on alcoholism, its nature and treatment; to make this knowledge effectual in solving the problems of alcoholism; and the promotion of tenet that the alcoholic can be helped.
  • These objectives shall be made effective by means of:
    1. Education of the community on the problems of alcoholism, the disease; and alcoholism, the public health program
    2. Establishment of an information center.
    3. Stimulation of a clinic for the study of alcoholism, and the diagnosis and treatment of alcoholics.
    4. The promotion of better hospital facilities for treating alcoholics.

Our founder, the late Martin Dodd, shared this compelling and touching commentary on the state of recovery. Check it out here:

Our amazing photographer, Jay Dunn, made this video, asking some of our community partners to describe Sun Street Centers in a single word:

We would like to extend a very special thank you to the following partners and sponsors:
